Below is my personal Git cheat sheet/reference:

$ = Variable

Add all files that are new or have changed

git add . 

Remove all files that have been deleted on disk

git add -u 

Commit with message

git commit -m '$message_goes_here' 

Push changes to remote branch

git push 

Create or update remote branch

git push origin $old_branch:$new_branch 

Delete remote branch

git push origin :$branch_name 

List branches

git branch -a 

Rename branch

git branch -m $old_branch $new_branch 

Delete local branch

git branch -d $branch_name 

Change branch

git checkout $branch_name 

Rebase branch from master

git checkout $branch_name 
git rebase master 

Merge branches

git checkout $banch_name 
git merge $other_branch 

Create tag

git tag "$tag_name" 

Push tags

git push --tags 

Delete tag

git tag -d $tag_name 
git push origin :refs/tags/$tag_name 

Add submodule

git submodule add $git_url $path/to/directory 

Update submodules

git submodule update --init --recursive 

Delete submodule

1. Delete the relevant line from the .gitmodules file.
2. Delete the relevant section from .git/config.

git rm --cached $path/to/directory

When necessary, reset to prior commit

git reset --hard $token 
git push --force origin $branch_name

A big day for Vidaroo as we roll out our on demand SaaS interface.

We have been working with individual Emmis stations for a number of years. Today marks an exciting milestone as our platform is contracted for use across all 22 stations.

From multi-camera live events such as the most recent “Lupe Fiasco” production in NYC to original custom content like “The Power Party Mix at Noon” in LA, the results are direct indicators of a company tuned into their audience.
